The HTC Smart Touch Phone is Here

September 1, 2010

The HTC Smart touch phone might not be a power packed android with a super fast processor like HTC Desire or HTC legend but it certainly has its charm as well. This small invention by HTC has truly lived up to its slogan of being “quietly brilliant.” The company has not launched a global marketing spree for this one and they don’t need to either, the phone speaks for itself. This phone is definitely a smart choice.

The phone is available in pink, black and white colors and has a plausible design as well.

HTC Smart does not have a load of features or an app store but it has all the necessary things you require and use on a daily basis. It is a 21st century phone indeed which gives you good performance and has a reasonable price. Many reviewers stand true when they say that this is the basic level of HTC so it can be used by anybody. You don’t really have to be a high tech person to figure this one out.

It’s a 104 x 55 x 12.8 mm semi-smartphone with a 2.8 inch screen. It has 3G connectivity but lacks wi-fi. There is also Bluetooth, USB data cable connection for other data connections.

An extraordinary feature of the phone is the integrated facebook and twitter applications which help you stay in touch with your friends. It also has smart dial, 3.5mm jack, micro SD card slot which can add upto 16GB of external memory and a 3 megapixel resolution camera with LED flash. Seriously, what does this phone not have considering it’s the cheapest HTC phone to date yet it has been equipped with brilliant features. The QWERTY keyboard has also been rated as pretty good as typing is easy and convenient. It doesn’t have a lot of glitched.

The browser has received much criticism for being too slow and the fact that this phone has no multi-tasking is also a major problem for those who are used to costly android phones. There is no camera for video calling and there is no voice dialing either. Neither does the software support an app store so the numbers of applications on HTC Smart are restricted to the ones which come pre-installed. As we said before, this phone was not built for luxury purposes but for practical users. It has been termed as an “entry level” phone.

On the whole, this phone is for the average folk who don’t want to spend too much money on a phone they can’t work. The HTC Smart is user friendly and equipped with all the necessary features one can expect from a basic “entry level” phone. If you are looking for something affordable and convenient then this phone might be the one for you.

Palm Inc Raised The Bar With Treo Smart Phones

August 27, 2010

In the last decade, mobile phones have stopped being juts a device for voice calls but have become a gadget for data communications. First, there was SMS or Short Message Service, a service that allowed people to send alphanumeric messages to mobile phones using the GSM network. Now the mobile phones have been packed with so many features including full keyboards, multi-media support capacity, internet connectivity and other mobile applications.

Palm Inc. was among the first to introduce Smart phones with emailing and internet connectivity and full keyboards that made it easy to use the mobile phone as an extension of one’s office. It allowed voice and data connectivity, both very important features for professionals on the go.

Today , the Treo Smart Phones from Palm Inc. are among the top choices of business executives and other professionals because of the mobile applications that allow people to use their phones for a variety of purposes. All high technology features of the Treo Smart phones would be for naught if it weren’t for its ease of use. The latest Treo Smart Phones with Windows OS are even more easy to use than the first Smart phones introduced years ago. The Windows OS also allow the Treo Smart phones to handle Windows documents better allowing you to work seamlessly between your PC and your mobile phone. Both the Windows OS and the Palm OS also make the Treo phones among the fastest mobiles in the market, allowing for a great computing experience and a seamless internet connection.

Today, Treos are still among the much-coveted phones. With WiFi and lighter and slimmer form factors, Palm has really raised the bar in mobile phones. Aside from the voice and data connectivity, the Treo also features a camera and supports both still photo and video. The phone’s operating systems also allow support of various multi-media. Mobile phones these days are really more like mobile computers in a light and tight form. Packed with features, the new mobile phones may be considered cheap considering that such technologies were not available just a decade ago and that owning mobile phones then that only featured voice calls already cost an arm and a leg.

Comparing Asus Vs Other Mini NoteBooks

August 25, 2010

If you are interested in a small, cheap and durable computer then you will probably be very interested in Netbooks, which are also known as subnotebooks, and mini notebooks. First let’s start by comparing a few of the most popular models:

Asus EEE PC: 7-10″ Display, Linux/XP, 900MHz (Celeron/Atom), 2-80GB, 512MB – 2GB

HP Mini Note 2133: 8.9″ Display, Linux/Vista, 1-1.6Ghz, 4-120GB, 512MB – 2GB

Cloud Book: 7″ Display, gOS, 1.2Ghz, 30GB, 512MB

NoahPad: 7″ Display, Linux, 1Ghz, 30GB, 512MB

People that are familiar with computers will already know about Asus, however if you know very little about a computer then you might not know who Asus is. This could be the major reason why the HP Mini Note computer is becoming so popular. Almost everybody will know who HP is; it’s one of the most famous computer manufacturers in the world.

The HP Mini Note is a tiny computer which has an 8.9″ screen, what’s fantastic is that the keyboard is almost the same size as a normal keyboard which is a great achievement! These are available running Vista, or Linux. The HP 2133 is very competitively priced to compete against the EEE PC, and features a conventional hard drive rather than an SSD drive.

All of the major net books available feature Linux; however the HP and EEE PC also have windows options. On earlier EEE PC models it was possible to install XP yourself; newer models do include XP as standard. The HP 2133 computer is however a much more advanced computer which is capable of running Windows Vista.

If you’re familiar with Linux then you will know that it’s available in a number of different flavors, or distributions. The majority of these come with no support, however the operating system on the HP2133 is from Novell. The difference with this and other Linux operating systems is that they do offer support. Linux isn’t always very easy to use, so the support will be very useful.

Make sure you check the specifications of the HP2133 sub notebook computer in your own country as the specs do seem to be varying in different countries. Be sure to check on the hp website and select your own country. This will make sure you know exactly what the computer will be like that you are purchasing.

Although there are many different netbook computers on offer, with many more being released on a regular basis the HP and ASUS are the most popular sub notebook computers on offer. I personally think that it’s a tossup between these two computers. The two have slightly different specs, and the HP reportedly has a better build quality.

The newer ASUS models do have larger screens and better specifications; however the HP may still be your machine of choice.

Netbooks or subnotebook computers are a fantastic way to take your computer everywhere you go! They are almost as convenient as a PDA, but are fully featured computers.

How to Get a Home Office Computer For Cheap

August 22, 2010
Tags: ,

Since you are trying to save money on everything that you are investing in your home office, and since your home office computer is going to be a large part of the investment, shouldn’t you think about getting a cheap computer for your work at home venture? The issue here is that most people don’t know how they can get computers for cheap. They end up going to the big name electronic stores and buying more of a computer than they need at exorbitant prices, and that definitely puts a dampener on their business plans. So, what do you do? Is there a way to get home office computers for cheap? The good news is that there are several ways. Here are some tips for you.

Get an Assembled Computer

Instead of getting branded computers, you could save a great deal if you go for assembled computers, also known as DIY computers. Just go to an electronics hardware store and get everything you need for your computer-the motherboard, the hard disk, the sound and video cards, the chips etc. Get a monitor and a CPU from there as well. Don’t forget the keyboard and mouse. Then come back home and assemble everything. You don’t have to think much about this. All the parts that you buy will have precise instructions about how you can go ahead with the assembly. Given the right devotion to the job, this shouldn’t take more than an hour. You would be shaving off anywhere between $100 and $300 off the price of the computer were you to buy branded.

You get warranties on each individual computer part that you buy. That way, you can be assured that you aren’t blowing your money. Also, if you find it too difficult, then for a slightly added cost someone at the store could even assemble the computer for you.

Buy Only What You Want

Most people make their home office computers too expensive because they buy things they don’t need. For instance, if you are going to do well with a 120 GB memory, why go for 1 TB? If your needs will be met well by 2 GB RAM, why go for 16 GB? Similarly, don’t get components you don’t need. If you are only going to do desktop publishing jobs on your computer, you don’t need a high-profile video graphics card.

Maintain Your Computer Well

This is important. Once you have the computer installed, make sure you have all the protections on it, such as a good antivirus program and Malware protection as well. Make sure you keep your computer defragmented at all times and scan for errors regularly. If you are using a Windows system, keeping the registry clean is of utmost importance. Doing all these things will help you save a pretty bundle on maintenance and repair bills.
